Kitchen Design

  • Do you offer a free fitted kitchen design service?

Yes, we do and with absolutely no obligation to take any further. We also don’t believe in charging for any changes to your kitchen design as we want you to be 100% delighted with your design before any work starts.

We love showing off our design ideas and look forward to helping you create your perfect kitchen. Whether you have an open-plan kitchen, a galley kitchen, a small kitchen and regardless of whether you're thinking of traditional or modern, we'll have plenty of design ideas that we will show you on our computerised kitchen planner.

While creating your fitted kitchen plan, we'll consider storage, worktops, lighting, appliances and ancillary services.

  • Can I email over my kitchen design plans to get a price?

You are welcome to send us your kitchen plans by email. If you have quotes already and are comparing prices, you can send us an accurate plan. We’ll provide a like for like price but until we complete our free comprehensive survey, this should be considered an estimate.

We will finalise the price of your kitchen and any other services after the survey but there is no reason for the price to increase if the original plan is accurate.

If you are early in your kitchen buying journey, we recommend that you visit our kitchen showroom in Milton Keynes to see our fitted kitchens and meet us first. You can email us with a kitchen layout plan and we can have it ready in our kitchen planner for when you visit.

  • How much do your kitchens cost?

Costs vary depending on size, design and additional service, but we are more than happy to create an accurate quote for your individual needs without obligation.

We supply good quality German kitchens for lower prices than you would normally expect. Of course, you will be able to find cheaper products with flat pack cabinets but we believe we are competitive for fully built fitted kitchen units.

There is no obligation and our prices compare well without compromising quality or service, so please give us a call today.

  • Can you deal with awkward kitchens?

The retailers I’ve spoken to seem to leave me with a lot of dead space to avoid the awkward areas. Is this how you work?

Definitely not – we've never been defeated by a kitchen yet! It gives us a chance to show how creative we can be. Our cabinets are specifically manufactured for your kitchen not off the shelf so can be designed to fit any fitted kitchen layout.

There is a difference between kitchen specialists and designers who work for large companies. Some are good but most have come from completely different careers and are taught how to use a cad system, not how to design a kitchen.

We are here to offer you a free kitchen design service and provide any advice or help with your project. Please contact us for more information on how we can be of assistance to you.

  • How much space do I need around a kitchen island?

An island is considered an essential part of modern kitchen design, especially in an open plan kitchen. However, it doesn't suit every kitchen. A small kitchen may feel too cramped with an island. We'll be able to show you this on our computerised kitchen planner and show alternatives such as a breakfast bar which may be slimmer.

You need to be able to walk around the island easily and allow space for someone to walk by if you are standing at the kitchen island. You also need to make sure that you can bend down comfortably to open drawers and cupboards. This means that ideally, you will have at least one metre between the island and parallel worktop. Any narrower and it will likely feel too tight.

If you are tight on space but an island is essential for your dream kitchen, you can push the gap to 90 cm but make sure you are happy with this limited space before signing off your kitchen design.

Try setting up an island made of cardboard boxes in your existing space for a week or two.

  • What if I don't like my kitchen design?

You do not have to accept a kitchen design. We work with you to understand what you want from your kitchen and to interpret that in your design. We use a state of the art computerised design system. It is very easy for us to make changes. The best kitchen ideas come from a collaboration between the customer and the designer. Talk to us. We are here to help.

Ordering Your New Kitchen

  • How long will my fitted kitchen take from ordering?

From placing your order it will take approximately 6 weeks to deliver direct from Germany plus installation time which will depend on the complexity of your project.

  • What are your payment terms?

If we are installing your kitchen:

We ask for a 50% deposit with your kitchen order. We’ll contact you one week before installation to take a further 40% payment. When your installation is complete and we hand over your lovely new kitchen, you would pay the final 10%.

    For supply only:

If we are providing goods to you on a supply only basis, we ask that you pay 50% when you place the order and 50% one week before delivery.

  • How long will it take to install my new kitchen?

The amount of time it takes depends on the amount of work involved and the products you choose. It also depends on how much preparation work is required. If we are stripping out the kitchen, painting plastering and even removing walls, it will take longer than if we arrive on a Monday morning ready to start building the kitchen.

Granite worktops take a week to manufacture and Corian is two. They can only be templated once the units are in place. They'll return up to a week later with your fully prepared worktop. This means that a new kitchen can take between one and three weeks from beginning to end, from the point of a prepared room.

The kitchen assembly is actually the quick part, especially as our carcasses arrive fully assembled. There is a lot that goes into your dream kitchen and we're efficient but we won't rush.

  • How will I manage without a kitchen?

No doubt about it, a new kitchen project can cause some inconvenience but it is worth it. We will do our best to minimise disruption and we do have some ideas to make it easier for you.

Your kitchen space will be unusable during the installation. In some cases, we can use some of your old kitchen units and work surfaces to create a space in another room. We will be unable to connect any appliances but if you have a free-standing electric cooker you may be able to use it in another room. Most customers manage with microwaves, worktop grills and take-aways. If you cannot manage without a kitchen, there are companies that can park a mobile kitchen on your drive but this is not a cheap option and may stretch your kitchen budget.

Our Services

  • Do you provide a kitchen installation service?

Yes, we provide a complete service from measuring, design through to completion including any ancillary works. We also offer a supply only service if you have a preferred installer such as a builder who is already engaged for a kitchen extension.

  • Will you arrange the electrician, plumber etc?

Yes, our process of full kitchen project management means that we coordinate all the trades and ensure they're available at the right time. All of our contractors are certified for the relevant trades and any required certificates will be provided on completion of your kitchen.

  • Do you supply flooring for kitchens?

Yes, we supply and fit flooring if required as part of the full service. We do not fit flooring if we are not installing the kitchen. If we supply the kitchen for your own installers, we are also happy to supply the flooring.

  • Which flooring do you supply?

We are big fans of Karndean vinyl flooring. We consider this the best floor option for kitchens. It's strong, durable and easy to maintain, warmer underfoot than tiles and less likely to mark than wood.

Karndean has a huge range of wood and stone effect tiles and planks. Some of them are almost undetectable as vinyl. We are happy to quote for the supply of Karndean flooring when we quote for your kitchen.

If you require a floor solution that we do not supply, you can purchase it and have it ready for us when we install your kitchen. Please make us aware of this when we provide your quotation.

  • Do I need to get my kitchen planning approved by the council?

A planning application for installing a kitchen or bathroom is generally not required unless it is part of a house extension.

However, if your property is a listed building you should consult the local planning authority. Read more about planning on the Milton Keynes planning portal. https://www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/planning-and-building/planning-apply-pay-view/do-i-need-planning-permission

  • I have my own builder but I like your kitchen. Do you do supply only kitchens?

Yes, we are happy to supply your new kitchen to your specification for your own builder to fit. We can either deal directly with you or your builder. We can supply kitchen cabinets and doors only or also supply the appliances, worktops, sinks and taps.

  • Do you offer finance?

We do not offer finance. The reason that we don't is that it is commonly thought that there is no additional cost for financing your kitchen purchase. In fact, companies pay a fee to be able to offer fiance which is hidden in the price. There are plenty of ways to finance your kitchen that are cheaper for you in the long run.

  • Will you remove the old kitchen?

Yes, if we are installing your new kitchen, we can remove and dispose of everything responsibly. We'll discuss this with you as part of the kitchen project plan. The Kitchen is made up of many different materials including stainless steel, electrical goods, cabinet doors, worktops and tiles. Some of these materials can be recycled so where possible, we dispose of them in a way that is sympathetic to our environment.

  • Can we use our existing appliances in the new kitchen?

Customers often reuse their existing appliances in their new kitchen if they are freestanding.

Appliances are usually standard heights and will fit in any kitchen. Tell us what you have and we'll incorporate them into your kitchen design.

If you originally thought you would like integrated appliances, don't sacrifice your dream kitchen ideas for the sake of an appliance. You will no be able to replace the old one with an integrated appliance later as the sizes are different.

  • What choice of worktops do you have?

We can offer a wide range of worktops to help create your perfect kitchen. We'll take a look at the options when we design your kitchen. You can choose from laminate which comes in plain colours and wood and stone effects. For pure luxury, you may wish to choose a natural stone or granite, and for the ultimate contemporary kitchen, you could explore the creative possibilities of Corian.

After Your Kitchen is Installed

  • What Guarantees do you offer?

We provide a 1-year guarantee for workmanship for kitchens installed by us, & 5 Years on our Kitchens.

Your appliances will be supplied with their own guarantees from the manufacturer. Most are supplied with a one year guarantee and you may be offered the option of extended warranties. Your appliances will come with a card for you to register your purchase.

  • What if I have any concerns after installation?

We are always here to help if you have concerns. It isn't usual for there to be problems after the installation as we will check that you are happy before signing off on your new kitchen. Of course, if you have any questions, please call us.

If your question is about how your appliances work, please refer to the manufacturer's instructions first. Instructions can usually be found online.
